’s-Hertogenbosch, home of Hieronymus Bosch: St John’s Cathedral, a boat trip on the Binnendieze and local pastry, under two hours away.

Less than two hours’ drive from Brussels, ’s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) is a warm-hearted Brabant town, proud of its painter Hieronymus Bosch. Its St John’s Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece, surprises with the little carved figures climbing along its flying buttresses. A boat trip on the Binnendieze glides beneath houses and lanes, in places under vaults, to discover the town from below. The Jheronimus Bosch Art Center, set in a church, shows reproductions of his entire work. On the Market Square, the painter’s statue watches over the terraces where you can taste the Bossche bol, the town’s large chocolate-covered choux bun.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is recommended.
  • Departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point; price on quotation, from 20 participants.
  • Walking level: moderate (walks around town, some cobblestones and steps).
  • Binnendieze boats pass under low vaults and boarding involves a few steps: not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
