Three days between Roman Trier and the wine villages of the Moselle, with an optional river cruise and wine tasting.
Germany’s oldest city, Trier has outstanding Roman monuments, such as the Porta Nigra and the Basilica of Constantine, listed by UNESCO. Your group discovers them at a gentle pace before heading into the Moselle Valley, where Riesling vineyards slope down to the river. In Bernkastel-Kues, the market square and its half-timbered houses form a picture-postcard setting, perfect for a cruise or a tasting. On the last day, Cochem and its imperial castle overlook the valley before a short, easy journey home. A 3-star hotel with lift, on half board, welcomes you for two nights without changing rooms.
Programme
Day 1: Trier, the Rome of the North
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in Trier in the late morning.
- Group lunch at a restaurant (on request).
- Guided tour of Trier: Porta Nigra, cathedral, Church of Our Lady and Basilica of Constantine (on request).
- Free time on the main market square (Hauptmarkt).
- Drive to the hotel in the Moselle Valley.
- Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Bernkastel-Kues and the vineyards
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive along the bends of the Moselle to Bernkastel-Kues.
- Stroll around the market square and its half-timbered houses.
- Cruise on the Moselle (on request).
- Group lunch at a restaurant (on request).
- Tasting of Moselle wines at a winegrower’s (on request).
- Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Cochem and return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Cochem and walk along the Moselle embankment.
- Guided tour of Cochem Imperial Castle (Reichsburg), reached on foot or by shuttle (on request).
- Free time and lunch at leisure in the old town.
- Departure in mid-afternoon.
- Return journey with regular breaks, arriving in your region in the evening.

- Walking level: easy (the climb to Cochem Castle is optional).
- Recommended from April to October; cruises and the grape harvest season (September–October) should be checked for the year.
