Sorrento: Capri, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and Naples (12 days)

Day 1: Departure and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (central Switzerland), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Journey and overnight stopover (Tuscany or Umbria)

• Breakfast, then journey with regular breaks.
• Crossing of the Alps through the Gotthard tunnel, then journey south.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Tuscany or Umbria), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Arrival in Sorrento

• Breakfast, then the last part of the journey with regular breaks.
• Afternoon arrival, check-in at the hotel for 7 nights, dinner.

Day 4: Sorrento, between cliffs and lemon trees

• Guided walk in Sorrento: Piazza Tasso, old town and the Villa Comunale viewpoint (on request).
• Visit of a lemon farm and limoncello tasting (on request).
• Free afternoon; dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Pompeii, the buried city

• Short drive to Pompeii.
• Guided tour of the archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: forum, frescoed houses and baths (on request).
• Lunch in a restaurant near the site (on request).
• Return to Sorrento in the afternoon.

Day 6: Free day in Sorrento

• Free day (driver's rest day): Sorrento's lanes and shops, terraces facing Vesuvius.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: The island of Capri

• Boat crossing from Sorrento to Capri (on request).
• Funicular ride from Marina Grande up to the Piazzetta of Capri.
• Walk to the Gardens of Augustus and their view of the Faraglioni.
• Boat trip around the island or visit of Anacapri by local minibus (on request).
• Boat back to Sorrento in the late afternoon.

Day 8: The Amalfi Coast from the sea

• Boat cruise from Sorrento along the Amalfi Coast, depending on the season and the sea (on request).
• Stop in Positano, a village of colourful houses tumbling down the hillside.
• Stop in Amalfi: St Andrew's Cathedral and the lanes of the former maritime republic.
• Fish lunch in Amalfi (on request).
• Boat back to Sorrento in the late afternoon.

Day 9: Naples, a city of character

• Drive to Naples.
• Guided tour of the National Archaeological Museum, rich in treasures from Pompeii (on request).
• Walk in the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and along Spaccanapoli.
• Pizza lunch in a Neapolitan pizzeria (on request).
• Return to Sorrento for the last evening.

Day 10: Leaving Sorrento, overnight stopover (Tuscany or Umbria)

• Breakfast, then return journey with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Tuscany or Umbria), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Journey and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)

• Breakfast, then journey with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (central Switzerland), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Return to Belgium

• Breakfast, then return journey with regular breaks.
• Evening return to your home area.
