Three days in the Middle Rhine Valley: Koblenz, a cruise past the Lorelei, Rüdesheim and its cable cars.
Between Koblenz and Rüdesheim, the UNESCO-listed Middle Rhine Valley is lined with hilltop castles, terraced vineyards and picturesque villages. Your group discovers Koblenz and the Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine meets the Moselle, then rides the cable car up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress without any effort. On the second day, a cruise takes you past the famous Lorelei rock, followed by an afternoon in Rüdesheim and its lively lane, the Drosselgasse. Getting around is by coach, boat or cable car, to spare everyone’s legs. A 3-star hotel with lift in the valley welcomes you for two nights on half board.
Programme
Day 1: Koblenz and the Deutsches Eck
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in Koblenz around midday.
- Group lunch at a restaurant (on request).
- Walk to the Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and the Moselle meet.
- Cable car ride up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and view over the city (on request).
- Drive to the hotel in the Rhine Valley.
- Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Lorelei cruise and Rüdesheim
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Cruise on the most romantic stretch of the Rhine, past the Lorelei rock (on request).
- The coach meets you when the boat arrives and takes you to Rüdesheim.
- Group lunch at a restaurant (on request).
- Free time in the Drosselgasse and the old town.
- Cable car ride over the vineyards up to the Niederwald Monument (on request).
- Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Marksburg Castle and return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Braubach, below Marksburg Castle, never destroyed since the Middle Ages.
- Guided tour of Marksburg Castle (uphill, moderate walking) (on request).
- Free time and lunch at leisure.
- Departure in the early afternoon.
- Return journey with regular breaks, arriving in your region in the evening.
