Opatija: Kvarner Riviera, Lungomare, Rijeka and the island of Krk (8 days)

Day 1: Departure and overnight stopover (southern Germany)

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (southern Germany), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Arrival in Opatija

• Breakfast, then the last part of the journey with regular breaks.
• Afternoon arrival, check-in at the hotel for 5 nights, dinner.

Day 3: Opatija and the Lungomare

• Guided tour of Opatija: park of Villa Angiolina, St James's Church and the statue of the Maiden with the Seagull (on request).
• Walk at your own pace along the Lungomare to the small fishing harbour of Volosko.
• Free afternoon on the beach or at a café terrace; dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Rijeka and the Trsat sanctuary

• Short drive to Rijeka, a major Adriatic port.
• Coach ride up to Trsat: castle and Marian sanctuary, with views over the Kvarner Bay.
• Free time on the Korzo, Rijeka's pedestrian street.
• Lunch in a local restaurant (on request).
• Return to Opatija in the afternoon.

Day 5: Free day in Opatija

• Free day (driver's rest day): beach, Lungomare and the resort's cafés.
• Walk to Lovran, an old town known for its chestnuts, or return by local bus.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: The island of Krk

• Drive to the island of Krk over the bridge linking it to the mainland.
• Discovery of the town of Krk, its walls and cathedral, with a local guide (on request).
• Visit of Vrbnik, a village perched above the sea, and tasting of Žlahtina white wine (on request).
• Return to Opatija in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Leaving Opatija, overnight stopover (southern Germany)

• Breakfast, then return journey with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (southern Germany), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Return to Belgium

• Breakfast, then return journey with regular breaks.
• Evening return to your home area.
