Umbria for senior groups: Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Spoleto and Lake Trasimeno (11 days)

Day 1: Departure and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (central Switzerland), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Journey and overnight stopover (Emilia-Romagna)

• Breakfast, then journey with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Emilia-Romagna), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Arrival in Umbria and Perugia

• Breakfast, then drive across the Apennines to Umbria, with regular breaks.
• Arrival near Perugia in the early afternoon and check-in at the hotel for 6 nights.
• Ride up into the centre of Perugia on the Rocca Paolina escalators, then stroll along Corso Vannucci to the Fontana Maggiore.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Gubbio

• Drive to Gubbio, a medieval town of grey stone set against Mount Ingino.
• Guided tour of the old town and the square of the Palazzo dei Consoli (on request).
• Lunch of Umbrian truffle specialities (on request).
• Free time, then return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 5: Spello, Bevagna and Montefalco

• Drive to Spello, a village of pink stone with flower-filled lanes.
• Stop in Bevagna, a small medieval town on the plain, easy to walk around.
• Lunch and Sagrantino tasting at a Montefalco estate (on request).
• Free time on the square of Montefalco, the balcony of Umbria, then return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 6: Free day near Perugia

• Free day (driver's rest day): strolls, café terraces and rest at the hotel.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Spoleto and the Marmore Falls

• Drive to Spoleto: the cathedral and its frescoes by Filippo Lippi, then the Bridge of Towers.
• Guided tour of the upper town (on request).
• Seated lunch (on request).
• Stop at the Marmore Falls, at the times when the water is released (on request).
• Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 8: Lake Trasimeno

• Drive to Passignano sul Trasimeno, on the lakeshore.
• Boat crossing to Isola Maggiore and walk through the island's fishing village (on request).
• Lunch of lake fish (on request).
• In the afternoon, free time in Castiglione del Lago, then return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 9: Deruta, then journey to the stopover (Emilia-Romagna)

• Breakfast, then stop in Deruta, the village of painted ceramics, and visit to a workshop (on request).
• Return journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Emilia-Romagna), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Journey and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)

• Breakfast, then journey with regular breaks.

Day 11: Return to Belgium
