A 10-day seaside holiday in Opatija for your group, with 7 nights half board, Rijeka, Učka and optional Istria.
Once a resort for the Austro-Hungarian court, Opatija has kept its Belle Époque villas, flower-filled parks and old-world elegance on the shores of the Kvarner Gulf. The Lungomare, a seaside path of about twelve kilometres, links the little fishing harbour of Volosko to Lovran, passing coves and beaches along the way. Your group also discovers Rijeka and Trsat Castle, then the wooded slopes of Učka, the mountain that towers over the Riviera. As an option, a day in Istria takes you to Rovinj and the Roman amphitheatre of Pula. Association, club or group of friends: you choose the date and departure point, and we balance the stay between swimming, walks and excursions.
Programme
Day 1: Departure for Croatia
- Departure in the late afternoon from the place of your choice.
- Overnight journey to Croatia with two drivers on board (double crew) and a break of at least 30 minutes every 3 hours of driving.
- Option with an overnight stop in Germany or Austria on the way there and back (on request).
Day 2: Arrival in Opatija
- Arrival in the late morning and check-in at the 3-star hotel in Opatija for 7 nights, half board (full board on request).
- First stroll through the Villa Angiolina park, down to the Maiden with the Seagull statue.
Day 3: The Lungomare and Volosko
- Walk along the Lungomare, the coastal path linking Volosko and Lovran, to the little fishing harbour of Volosko.
- Tasting of Kvarner specialities in a konoba in Volosko (on request).
- Free afternoon at the beach.
Day 4: Rijeka and Trsat
- Coach excursion to Rijeka, the great port of the Kvarner, and a walk along the Korzo.
- Up to Trsat Castle and the Shrine of Our Lady of Trsat, with views over the bay.
- Free afternoon at the beach.
Day 5: Free day
- Free day at the beach and on the promenade (drivers’ rest day).
Day 6: Učka Nature Park and Lovran
- Coach excursion into Učka Nature Park, the mountain above the Riviera, with panoramic views of Istria and the Kvarner islands.
- Guided hike to the summit of Vojak, the highest point of Učka (on request).
- In the afternoon, discover Lovran, a small medieval town known for its chestnuts.
Day 7: A day in Istria
- Day trip to Istria: Rovinj’s old town and the Roman amphitheatre of Pula (on request).
- Or a free day at the beach.
Day 8: Free day
- Free day to enjoy the beach and the hotel.
- Cruise in the Kvarner Gulf with a swimming stop (on request).
Day 9: Departure for Belgium
- Breakfast and a free morning, then departure in the early afternoon.
- Overnight journey back to Belgium with a double crew and regular breaks.
Day 10: Arrival home
- Arrival in your home area during the morning.
