A 12-day beach holiday on the Makarska Riviera for your group, with 7 nights in Dalmatia, Split, Trogir, the Plitvice Lakes and the islands as an option.
At the foot of the Biokovo massif, the Makarska Riviera in central Dalmatia lines up white pebble beaches fringed with pines and a sea of great clarity. Your group stays in Makarska or Baška Voda, on a half-board or full-board basis in a hotel near the sea. The excursions lead to Diocletian's Palace in Split and the old town of Trogir, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with the Plitvice Lakes on the way down and a boat trip to Brač or Hvar as options. The journey is made in stages, with two hotel nights on the way there and two on the way back.
Programme
Day 1 : Journey to Bavaria
- Early morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive through Germany, with regular stops.
- Overnight stop at a hotel in the Munich area, dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 : Through Austria and Slovenia to Zagreb
- Breakfast and drive through Austria and Slovenia, with regular stops.
- Arrival in the Zagreb area in the late afternoon.
- Overnight stop at the hotel, dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 : The Plitvice Lakes and arrival in Dalmatia
- Breakfast and drive to Plitvice Lakes National Park.
- Walking tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (on request).
- Drive to Dalmatia and arrival in Makarska at the end of the day.
- Check-in for 7 nights at a 3-star hotel near the beach, half board (full board on request).
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 : Makarska
- Free morning on the pebble beach, at the foot of the Biokovo massif.
- Walk along the Riva, by the harbour, and across Kačić Square.
- Free late afternoon, with the option of walking to Baška Voda along the seaside promenade.
Day 5 : Split and Diocletian's Palace
- Drive along the coast to Split.
- Discovery of Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Riva promenade.
- Guided tour of Diocletian's Palace and the Cathedral of St Domnius (on request).
- Return to Makarska in the late afternoon.
Day 6 : Free day in Makarska
- Free day on the beach and on the promenade (rest day for the driver).
Day 7 : Brač or Hvar by boat, or a day on the beach
- Boat excursion to the island of Brač and Zlatni Rat beach, or to the island of Hvar (on request).
- For groups who prefer to stay put, a free day in Makarska.
Day 8 : Trogir
- Drive to Trogir, a small medieval town built on an island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Walk through the lanes to the Cathedral of St Lawrence and its carved portal, then along the quay.
- Guided tour of Trogir (on request).
- Return to Makarska and a free late afternoon.
Day 9 : Last day by the sea
- Free day on the beach and on the promenade.
- Farewell dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 : Journey to Slovenia
- Breakfast and departure from Makarska.
- Drive along the Dalmatian motorway and via Zagreb, with regular stops.
- Overnight stop at a hotel in the Ljubljana area, dinner at the hotel.
Day 11 : Journey to Germany
- Breakfast and drive through Austria, with regular stops.
- Overnight stop at a hotel in the Nuremberg area, dinner at the hotel.
Day 12 : Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Return journey through Germany, with regular stops.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know
- Departure and return times adapted to your group's pick-up point; four days of travel in total, broken up by overnight stops.
- A valid identity card and the European Health Insurance Card for every participant; group leaders remain responsible for minors.
- Pebble beaches: water shoes are recommended, as well as good walking shoes for the Plitvice trails; swimwear, a towel, sun cream; currency: the euro.
