Ten days on the Adriatic for your group: 7 nights half board in Crikvenica and excursions on the island of Krk.
On the Kvarner coast, Crikvenica is a family resort known for its beaches and its long pine-shaded seafront promenade, which continues to the neighbouring village of Selce. Just opposite, the island of Krk, linked to the mainland by a bridge, is easy to explore by coach. Krk town has kept its walls, its cathedral and the Frankopan castle, while the cliff-top village of Vrbnik is the home of Žlahtina white wine. In the south of the island, Baška stretches along a long beach at the foot of the mountains, close to the church where the Baška tablet, a precious record of Glagolitic script, was found. Your group chooses its date and departure point and enjoys a stay that blends sea, villages and traditions.
Programme
Day 1: Departure for Croatia
- Departure in the late afternoon from the place of your choice.
- Overnight journey to Croatia with two drivers on board (double crew) and a break of at least 30 minutes every 3 hours of driving.
- Option with an overnight stop in Germany or Austria on the way there and back (on request).
Day 2: Arrival in Crikvenica
- Arrival in the late morning and check-in at the 3-star hotel in Crikvenica for 7 nights, half board (full board on request).
- First stroll along the pine-shaded seafront.
Day 3: Crikvenica and Selce
- Free morning at the beach.
- Walk along the coastal path from Crikvenica to Selce.
Day 4: Island of Krk: Krk town and Vrbnik
- Coach excursion to the island of Krk, across the bridge to the mainland.
- Discover Krk town, its walls, its cathedral and the Frankopan castle.
- Stop in Vrbnik, a village perched on a cliff above the sea.
- Tasting of Žlahtina, the white wine of Vrbnik, in a local cellar (on request).
Day 5: Free day
- Free day at the beach and on the promenade (drivers’ rest day).
Day 6: Baška and the Glagolitic tablet
- Coach excursion to Baška in the south of Krk, with free time on its long beach.
- Visit to St Lucy’s Church in Jurandvor, where the Baška tablet, one of the oldest Croatian texts, carved in Glagolitic script, was found (on request).
Day 7: Opatija and the Lungomare
- Coach excursion to Opatija, an elegant resort from the Austro-Hungarian era.
- Stroll through the Villa Angiolina park and along the Lungomare.
- Free afternoon at the beach.
Day 8: Free day
- Free day to enjoy the beach and the hotel.
- Boat trip along the Crikvenica Riviera with a swimming stop (on request).
Day 9: Departure for Belgium
- Breakfast and a free morning, then departure in the early afternoon.
- Overnight journey back to Belgium with a double crew and regular breaks.
Day 10: Arrival home
- Arrival in your home area during the morning.
