Tuscan Maremma for senior groups: Castiglione della Pescaia, Pitigliano, Massa Marittima and Argentario (10 days)

Day 1: Departure and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (central Switzerland), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Journey and overnight stopover (Emilia-Romagna)

• Breakfast, then journey with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Emilia-Romagna), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Arrival in the Maremma

• Breakfast, then drive over the Apennines and along the Tuscan coast, with regular breaks.
• Seated lunch on the way (on request).
• Afternoon arrival in Castiglione della Pescaia and check-in at the hotel for 5 nights, dinner.

Day 4: Pitigliano and Saturnia

• Drive inland and stop at the viewpoint facing Pitigliano, a village built on its tuff cliff.
• Guided tour of the village and the old Jewish quarter, the little Jerusalem (on request).
• Lunch of Maremma specialities (on request).
• In the afternoon, stop at the Mulino cascades in Saturnia, natural hot-water pools with free access (slippery ground, water shoes advised).
• Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 5: Free day in Castiglione della Pescaia

• Free day (driver's rest day): beach, swimming and rest at the hotel.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6: Massa Marittima

• Drive into the metal-bearing hills to Massa Marittima.
• Guided tour of the cathedral square, one of the finest medieval squares in Tuscany (on request).
• Lunch and tasting of Maremma wines at an estate (on request).
• Return to Castiglione, stroll through the walled village or free time at the beach, dinner.

Day 7: The Argentario and the Orbetello lagoon

• Drive to Orbetello, a town set in the middle of its lagoon.
• Panoramic coach tour of the Argentario promontory, with stops in Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole.
• Fish lunch at the harbour (on request).
• Boat trip along the Argentario coast (on request).
• Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 8: Leaving the Maremma, then journey to the stopover (Emilia-Romagna)

• Breakfast, then departure along the Tuscan coast and over the Apennines.
• Seated lunch on the way (on request).
• Return journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Emilia-Romagna), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Journey and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)
