Two Christmas days in Flanders: the Markt market in Bruges, then Ghent’s chalets around St Bavo’s Cathedral.

Bruges and Ghent offer two complementary Christmas atmospheres, less than an hour’s drive apart. In Bruges, the chalets are set up on the Markt, at the foot of the belfry, and on Simon Stevin Square, in a fairy-tale setting. In Ghent, the Christmas market brings the central squares to life around St Bavo’s Cathedral, home of the Mystic Lamb altarpiece. Your group enjoys short guided tours, reserved lunches in the warm and free time for mulled wine or hot chocolate. One night in a hotel with a lift lets you savour the evening lights without a late return.

Day 1: Bruges illuminated

  • Departure in the morning from the pick-up point of your choice.
  • Comfortable coach journey; our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Bruges in the late morning.
  • Reserved lunch in the centre (on request)
  • Guided tour of the historic centre: Markt, Burg Square and the béguinage (on request)
  • Free time at the Christmas market on the Markt and Simon Stevin Square.
  • Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Ghent and return

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Short coach ride to Ghent.
  • Guided visit of St Bavo’s Cathedral and the Mystic Lamb altarpiece (on request)
  • Reserved lunch in the centre (on request)
  • Free time at the Christmas market in the city centre.
  • Return journey in the late afternoon, arriving back in your area in the evening.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
