Oudenaarde and its Gothic town hall in the morning, then Kortrijk at Christmas: beguinage, Broel Towers and chalets.

This day brings together two fine towns of the Scheldt and Lys valleys. In the morning, your group stops in Oudenaarde, whose Gothic town hall is one of the most elegant in Flanders and which was once a great tapestry centre. After a seated lunch in Kortrijk, a short walk links the UNESCO-listed beguinage, the Church of Our Lady with its Van Dyck painting and the Broel Towers on the Lys. The late afternoon is free on the Market Square, where Christmas chalets are set up according to the town’s programme. Both centres are flat; the beguinage is cobbled but very small.

Programme

  • Departure in the morning from the place of your choice.
  • Comfortable coach journey; our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Coffee break on the way.
  • Arrival in Oudenaarde in mid-morning and discovery of the Market Square and town hall.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required; departure and return times are adapted to your pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (flat, compact centres, some cobblestones; the coach drops the group as close as possible).
  • Christmas markets run from late November to late December, to be checked each year; wheelchairs and reduced mobility: please let us know when booking.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
