Ypres at Christmas: chalets on the Market Square, the Cloth Hall and In Flanders Fields Museum, the Menin Gate and ramparts.

Rebuilt stone by stone after the First World War, Ypres regained its great Gothic Cloth Hall and Saint Martin’s Cathedral. At Christmas time, chalets are set up on its vast Market Square, depending on the town’s programme. Your group can visit the In Flanders Fields Museum, housed in the Cloth Hall, before a seated lunch in the centre. In the afternoon, the coach drops you near the Menin Gate, the memorial to the missing soldiers, before you return to the chalets for some free time. The Market Square is vast and flat, with cobblestones: walking is easy.

Programme

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required; departure and return times are adapted to your pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (flat, cobbled centre, coach nearby; the museum is accessible and has a lift).
  • Christmas markets run from late November to late December, to be checked each year; wheelchairs and reduced mobility: please let us know when booking.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
