Elba for senior groups: Portoferraio, Napoleon's residences, Marciana and Porto Azzurro (11 days)

Day 1: Departure and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (central Switzerland), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Journey and overnight stopover (Emilia-Romagna)

• Breakfast, then journey with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Emilia-Romagna), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Piombino and the crossing to Elba

• Breakfast, then drive across the Apennines to Piombino, with regular breaks.
• Seated lunch on the way (on request).
• Ferry crossing with the coach to Portoferraio (about one hour).
• Late-afternoon check-in at the hotel for 6 nights, dinner.

Day 4: Portoferraio and Napoleon

• Short drive to Portoferraio, the island's capital.
• Visit of the Villa dei Mulini, Napoleon's residence in exile (on request).
• Stroll around the harbour and the old town, between the Medici forts.
• Fish lunch (on request).
• In the afternoon, visit of the Villa San Martino, the Emperor's country residence (on request), then return to the hotel.

Day 5: Tour of the west of the island

• Panoramic coach tour of the west of the island, winding roads with sea views.
• Stop in Marciana Marina and walk along its seafront.
• Ride up Monte Capanne in small open cable-car baskets, for those comfortable with it (on request).
• Lunch in an inland village (on request).
• Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 6: Free day on Elba

• Free day (driver's rest day): beach, swimming and rest at the hotel.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri

• Drive to the east of the island and Porto Azzurro, a small colourful harbour.
• Free time on the square and along the harbour.
• Lunch of Elban specialities (on request).
• Stop in Capoliveri, a hilltop village overlooking the bays, and tasting of Aleatico, the island's sweet wine (on request).
• Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 8: Free day on Elba

• Free day: beach, seafront walk and café terraces.
• Dinner at the hotel.

Day 9: Ferry to the mainland, then journey to the stopover (Emilia-Romagna)

• Breakfast, then ferry crossing with the coach from Portoferraio to Piombino.
• Seated lunch on the way (on request).
• Return journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (Emilia-Romagna), dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Journey and overnight stopover (central Switzerland)
