A 10-day tour of all Slovenia: Ljubljana, Bled, Vršič Pass and the Soča, Piran, the Karst and Maribor.
Slovenia is roughly the size of a few Belgian provinces, yet it brings together the Alps, a Mediterranean coastline, giant caves and vine-covered hills. This grand tour takes your group from Ljubljana, the green capital shaped by architect Plečnik, to Lake Bled and its island, then over Vršič Pass into the emerald Soča Valley. On the coast, Piran and its Venetian lanes offer a real break by the Adriatic. The Karst then reveals its underground wonders, such as the canyon of the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Lipica stud farm, home of the Lipizzaner horses. The journey ends in Maribor, on the Drava, beside the oldest vine in the world.
