A day in Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland: Echternach and its basilica, the Mullerthal rocks and Beaufort Castle.

On the banks of the Sûre, Echternach is Luxembourg’s oldest town, which grew up around the abbey founded by Saint Willibrord at the end of the 7th century. Its basilica holds the saint’s tomb, honoured every Whit Tuesday by the hopping procession, listed by UNESCO as intangible heritage. All around, the Mullerthal region, known as Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland, reveals forests and sandstone rocks shaped by erosion, which the coach explores along pretty roads. In Beaufort, the ruins of a medieval castle stand next to a Renaissance château. The pace stays relaxed, with a reserved lunch and free time on the market square.

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice; our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Echternach in late morning and stroll on the market square, in front of the Dënzelt, the former courthouse.

  • Short stop at the Schiessentümpel waterfall, close to the road.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
