Crikvenica for senior groups: the Kvarner riviera, Krk island, Vrbnik and Trsat (8 days)

Day 1: Departure and stopover in southern Germany

• Morning departure from the place of your choice.
• Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
• Coffee break on the way and lunch at your own pace at a service area.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel in southern Germany, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arrival in Crikvenica

• Breakfast, then onward journey with regular breaks.
• Through Austria and Slovenia, arriving on the Kvarner coast in the late afternoon.
• Check-in at the hotel close to the sea for 5 nights, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Crikvenica and its promenade

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Free morning on the town’s sandy beach.
• Guided walk around Crikvenica, from the former Pauline monastery founded in 1412 by the Frankopans to the old fishing harbour (on request).
• At the end of the day, an easy, flat walk along the sea towards Selce.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Krk island and Vrbnik

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Crossing the Krk bridge and drive to Vrbnik, a village perched on a cliff above the sea.
• Tasting of Žlahtina white wine at a cellar in Vrbnik (on request).
• On to Krk town and free time in its old town and harbour.
• Lunch of island specialities (on request).
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Free day

• Free day (the driver’s rest day): beach, swimming, a nap or a walk by the water.
• Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Rijeka, Trsat and Opatija

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Coach ride up to Trsat, above Rijeka: Marian shrine and castle with views over the gulf.
• On to Opatija and a stroll along the seafront and in the park of Villa Angiolina.
• Treat at a Viennese-style café in Opatija (on request).
• Return to Crikvenica in the late afternoon, last dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Over the Alps to southern Germany

• Breakfast, then through Slovenia and Austria with regular breaks.
• Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel in southern Germany, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Return to Belgium

• Breakfast, then the last leg to Belgium with regular breaks.
• Arrival back in your region in the evening.
