A day of nature and heritage in the Mullerthal: Beaufort’s two castles, the Schiessentümpel waterfall and the ruins of Larochette.
In the north-east of the Grand Duchy, the Mullerthal region, nicknamed “Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland”, reveals deep forests, streams and striking sandstone rock formations. Beaufort has two castles side by side: a ruined medieval fortress and a 17th-century Renaissance château, where Cassero, a blackcurrant liqueur, is made. Further south, Larochette is overlooked by the remains of its castle perched on a rocky spur above the White Ernz valley. In between, a short walk leads to the Schiessentümpel waterfall and its little stone bridge. An ideal day for walking clubs, associations and families, from the departure point of your choice.
