2-day city trip to Dutch Limburg for your group: Thorn the white village, Roermond, Cuypers and the Meuse lakes.
A former principality ruled by an abbey of noblewomen, Thorn charms visitors with its whitewashed houses and cobbled lanes around the abbey church. Your group then heads to Roermond, an episcopal city where the architect Pierre Cuypers, designer of the Rijksmuseum, had his workshop. The Maasplassen, vast lakes created by gravel extraction, make for a lovely trip on the water.
Programme
Day 1: Thorn, the white village
- Morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to Dutch Limburg, arriving in Thorn around midday.
- Guided tour of the village and the abbey church (on request).
- Free time to stroll the cobbled lanes.
- Drive to Roermond and check-in at the hotel.
- Dinner featuring Limburg specialities (on request).
Day 2: Roermond and the Meuse lakes
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of Roermond: Munsterkerk, St Christopher’s Cathedral and Cuypers’ house (on request).
- Cruise on the Maasplassen, depending on the season (on request).
- Free time in town or at the Roermond Designer Outlet.
- Return journey in early afternoon.
- Arrival back in your area in the evening.
