The castle and St Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge, the astronomical clock and the evenings of a student capital: the final-year school trip in the heart of Central Europe.
With its castle overlooking the Vltava, its Gothic bridges and Baroque façades, Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your pupils trace a thousand years of history there, from the Kingdom of Bohemia to the Prague Spring and the Velvet Revolution, while enjoying the atmosphere of a young and welcoming city. The outward and return journeys are made overnight, with two drivers taking turns on board (double crew): departure on Sunday, arrival on Monday morning, and return to school on Saturday morning. Accommodation suited to school groups, separate rooms for the accompanying staff and a supervised programme from departure to return: the school and parents can rest assured.
Programme
Day 1 : Departure from your school
- Departure on Sunday afternoon or evening from your school.
- Overnight journey to the Czech Republic (about 10 hours on the road, excluding stops) with two drivers taking turns on board (double crew).
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
Day 2 : Arrival in Prague and the Old Town
- Arrival in Prague on Monday morning and breakfast.
- Walking tour of the Old Town: Old Town Square, the Church of Our Lady before Týn and the astronomical clock on the Old Town Hall.
- Walk to Wenceslas Square, the heart of the 1989 Velvet Revolution.
- Check-in at the accommodation for four nights (subject to room availability) and dinner.
Day 3 : Prague Castle and Malá Strana
- Visit to Prague Castle, one of the largest castle complexes in the world: St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace and Golden Lane.
- Walk down through the Malá Strana district and St Nicholas Church.
- Crossing of Charles Bridge and its thirty statues, at sunset if possible.
- Dinner and supervised evening.
Day 4 : Kutná Hora or a day in Prague
- Excursion to Kutná Hora and the Sedlec Ossuary (on request).
- About 1 hr 15 min from Prague, the former silver town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: St Barbara's Cathedral and the ossuary decorated with the bones of thousands of people.
- Otherwise, a supervised free day in Prague: Petřín Hill and its lookout tower, the John Lennon Wall and Kampa Island.
- Return to Prague for dinner.
Day 5 : The Jewish Quarter and the Vltava
- Visit to the Jewish Quarter of Josefov, its synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery (on request).
- Walk along the banks of the Vltava to the Dancing House.
- Cruise on the Vltava (on request).
- Supervised free time in the centre for souvenir shopping.
- Dinner and group evening.
Day 6 : Vyšehrad and overnight departure
- Rooms vacated after breakfast, luggage loaded onto the coach.
- Morning at Vyšehrad, the fortress overlooking the Vltava, and its cemetery where Dvořák and Smetana are buried.
- Lunch, then last supervised free time in the Old Town.
- Departure in the late afternoon or evening, overnight journey with two drivers taking turns on board (double crew).
Day 7 : Return to school
- Drive back to Belgium with regular stops.
- Arrival at your school on Saturday morning.
The price includes
- Coach transport from your school, with the coach at the group's disposal throughout the stay

- 4 nights in a 3-star hotel or a youth hostel suited to school groups in Prague, rooms for 3 to 8 pupils and separate rooms for the accompanying staff
- Half board (breakfast and dinner), from dinner on day 2 to breakfast on day 6
- Admission to Prague Castle (circuit including St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace and Golden Lane)
- Free places for the accompanying staff (their share is included in the price per pupil)

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, respectful behaviour at the ossuary and in places of worship).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: the autumn, Carnival or spring holidays, with booking 6 to 9 months in advance. The currency is the Czech koruna (CZK): bank cards are accepted almost everywhere, and street exchange offices should be avoided. The electrical sockets are the same as in Belgium; the cobbled streets and the climbs up to the castle call for good shoes.
