Day trip to the Lille Christmas market for your group: the chalets on Place Rihour, the big wheel on the Grand-Place and the illuminated lanes of Vieux-Lille.

During Advent, Lille is decked out in lights and hosts its Christmas market on Place Rihour, at the foot of the Palais Rihour. On the neighbouring Grand-Place, the big wheel and the giant Christmas tree tower over the Vieille Bourse and the belfry of the Chamber of Commerce. Your group strolls among the chalets, enjoys a mulled wine or a filled waffle from Méert, then discovers the cobbled streets and Flemish façades of Vieux-Lille. A festive day out less than two hours' drive from most Belgian towns.

Programme

  • Morning departure from the place of your choice.
  • Arrival in Lille, in the heart of the city.
  • Guided walking tour of Vieux-Lille (on request): the Grand-Place, the Vieille Bourse, Rue de la Monnaie and Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille Cathedral.
  • Group lunch in an estaminet in Vieux-Lille (on request), otherwise free lunch.
  • Free time at the Christmas market on Place Rihour: craft chalets, mulled wine, gingerbread and specialities of northern France.
  • Ride on the big wheel on the Grand-Place to admire the city from above (on request).
  • Sweet break at Méert, on Rue Esquermoise, to taste its famous filled waffles.
  • Departure in the late afternoon or early evening, after enjoying the illuminations.
  • Return to your area in the evening.

  • Departure and return times are adapted to your group's pick-up point.
  • The opening dates of the Christmas market vary from year to year and should be checked; weekends are very busy, so we recommend coming on a weekday.
  • Bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes; the meeting point and time for the return to the coach are given to you on arrival.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
