Day trip to the Arras Christmas market for your group: chalets on the Grand'Place, the UNESCO-listed belfry and a visit to the boves on request.
Every year, from late November to late December, the Grand'Place in Arras hosts one of the largest Christmas markets in northern France. Framed by the Flemish Baroque façades of the squares, the chalets offer crafts, decorations, mulled wine and gingerbread “cœurs d'Arras”. Your group can also climb the town hall belfry, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or go down into the boves, the underground quarries dug beneath the town. At nightfall, the illuminations give the squares a true fairy-tale feel.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Arras.
- Guided walking tour of the Grand'Place and the Place des Héros (on request).
- Guided tour of the boves, the underground galleries beneath the town hall (on request).
- Group lunch in a restaurant in the centre (on request), otherwise free lunch.
- Lift ride up the belfry for a view over the squares and the market (on request).
- Free time at the Christmas market on the Grand'Place: chalets, mulled wine, gingerbread and cœurs d'Arras.
- Departure in the late afternoon or early evening, after enjoying the illuminations.
- Return to your area in the evening.

- The opening dates of the Christmas market vary from year to year and should be checked; weekends are very busy, so we recommend coming on a weekday.
- Bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes; the meeting point and time for the return to the coach are given to you on arrival.
