A 3-day city trip to Leeuwarden for your group: the Oldehove, the Escher museum, the Franeker planetarium and Harlingen harbour.

Capital of Friesland, a province with its own language, Leeuwarden has kept its canals and its unfinished leaning tower, the Oldehove. The former stadtholders' palace houses a museum devoted to the prints of M.C. Escher, who was born in the city. Your group also discovers Franeker and the Eise Eisinga Planetarium, the oldest still working in the world, then the harbour of Harlingen, on the Wadden Sea.

Programme

Day 1 : Journey to Friesland

  • Morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Drive to Friesland, crossing the great Afsluitdijk dyke where possible.
  • Arrival in Leeuwarden in the afternoon and a first walk along the canals.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 2 : Leeuwarden

  • Guided tour of Leeuwarden: the Oldehove, the Waag and the canals (on request).
  • Visit to the Escher in Het Paleis museum (on request).
  • Visit to the Fries Museum, devoted to the history and art of Friesland (on request).
  • Group dinner with Frisian flavours (on request).

Day 3 : Franeker and Harlingen

  • Drive to Franeker and visit to the Eise Eisinga Planetarium, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (on request).
  • Stop in Harlingen: stroll around the harbour and along the quays.
  • Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
