A 4-day city trip to Friesland for your group: Leeuwarden, Sneek and Hindeloopen, two of the eleven Frisian cities, a cruise on the lakes and the village of Giethoorn.
A province with a character all its own, and its own language, Friesland is a land of lakes, canals and small historic towns, the Eleven Cities linked by the legendary Elfstedentocht skating race. Your group discovers Leeuwarden, the capital, with its leaning Oldehove tower, then Sneek and its water gate, and Hindeloopen, known for its painted furniture. A cruise on the Frisian lakes and, on the way back, the village of Giethoorn, with no roads and criss-crossed by canals, round off the stay.
Programme
Day 1 : Journey to Leeuwarden
- Morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to Friesland, with regular breaks along the way.
- Arrival in Leeuwarden in the afternoon and a first walk to the leaning Oldehove tower.
- Check-in at the hotel.
- Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).
Day 2 : Leeuwarden
- Guided walking tour of the centre and its canals (on request).
- Visit to the Fries Museum or the Princessehof ceramics museum (on request).
- Boat trip on the canals of Leeuwarden (on request).
- Group dinner in a restaurant in the centre (on request).
Day 3 : Sneek, the lakes and Hindeloopen
- Drive to Sneek, half an hour away.
- Walk to the Waterpoort, the 17th-century water gate and symbol of the town.
- Cruise on the Frisian lakes from Sneek (on request).
- In the afternoon, drive to Hindeloopen, a small town on the IJsselmeer.
- Visit to a Hindeloopen painting workshop (on request).
- Return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 4 : Giethoorn
- Drive to Giethoorn, just south of Friesland, in Overijssel.
- Walk along the canals and past the thatched farmhouses.
- Boat trip on the village canals (on request).
- Return journey in the early afternoon.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know
- Times adapted to your group's pick-up point; the drive to Friesland is long, so regular breaks are planned.
- In Giethoorn, the coach parks at the entrance to the village, which can only be explored on foot or by boat.
- Cruises on the lakes mainly run from April to October: bring a windproof jacket for time on the water.
