2-day city trip to Enkhuizen and Hoorn for your group: Zuiderzee Museum, historic harbours, a steam tram and a boat trip.

A former port of the Dutch East India Company, Hoorn has kept its Roode Steen square and its harbour tower, while Enkhuizen keeps watch over the IJsselmeer from the Drommedaris tower. At the Zuiderzee Museum, your group discovers the life of fishermen before the Zuiderzee was closed off, in a reconstructed village by the water. Between the two towns, the steam tram and historic boat form a circuit enjoyed by all generations.

Programme

Day 1: Hoorn and the Zuiderzee route

  • Morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Drive to West Friesland, arriving in Hoorn around midday.
  • Guided tour of Hoorn: Roode Steen, harbour and Hoofdtoren (on request).
  • Visit to the Westfries Museum (on request).
  • Drive to Enkhuizen and check-in at the hotel.
  • Fish dinner at a harbourside restaurant (on request).

Day 2: Enkhuizen and the Zuiderzee Museum

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit to the Zuiderzee Museum and its open-air village, depending on the season (on request).
  • Stroll around Enkhuizen’s old harbour, at the foot of the Drommedaris tower.
  • Steam tram ride from Medemblik to Hoorn, in season (on request).
  • Return journey in early afternoon.
  • Arrival back in your area in the evening.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
