2-day city trip to Clervaux for your group: The Family of Man exhibition, St Maurice’s Abbey and the Diekirch military museum.
Nestled in a wooded valley of the Éislek, Luxembourg’s hilly north, Clervaux is dominated by its castle and the Benedictine Abbey of St Maurice. The castle houses The Family of Man, a photographic exhibition conceived by Edward Steichen and inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register. Your group then travels to Diekirch, whose National Museum of Military History tells the story of the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944–1945.
Programme
Day 1: Clervaux and The Family of Man
- Morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to the north of the Grand Duchy, arriving in Clervaux around midday.
- Visit to The Family of Man exhibition at the castle (on request).
- Walk up to St Maurice’s Abbey and its panoramic view over the valley.
- Guided tour of Clervaux (on request).
- Check-in at the hotel.
- Dinner featuring Luxembourg specialities (on request).
Day 2: Diekirch and Bourscheid Castle
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Scenic stop in front of Bourscheid Castle, perched above the Sûre.
- Visit to the National Museum of Military History in Diekirch (on request).
- Return journey in early afternoon.
- Arrival back in your area in the evening.
