A 3-day city trip to Antwerp and Mechelen for your group: Grote Markt, cathedral, the MAS, Plantin-Moretus and St Rumbold's.

Antwerp, a great port city on the Scheldt, brings together the Grote Markt and its Brabo Fountain, the Cathedral of Our Lady with its Rubens paintings, and the Plantin-Moretus Museum, a former printing house listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the roof of the MAS, the view stretches over the city and the port. Your group then travels to Mechelen, capital of the Low Countries in the days of Margaret of Austria, dominated by the tower of St Rumbold's Cathedral and its carillon.

Programme

Day 1 : Journey to Antwerp

  • Morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Drive to Antwerp and arrival in the late morning.
  • Stop at Central Station and its monumental hall.
  • Guided tour of the historic centre: Grote Markt, City Hall and the Scheldt quays (on request).
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 2 : Antwerp, city of Rubens

  • Visit to the Cathedral of Our Lady and its Rubens paintings (on request).
  • Visit to the Plantin-Moretus Museum (on request).
  • Free access to the roof of the MAS for views over the city and the port.
  • Group dinner in a restaurant in the centre (on request).

Day 3 : Mechelen

  • Drive to Mechelen, half an hour away.
  • Climb of St Rumbold's Tower and its 538 steps, or guided tour of the centre of Mechelen (on request).
  • Stroll around the Grote Markt and along the Dijle.
  • Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
