Day trip to Tongeren for your group: the Gallo-Roman Museum, the béguinage and a tasting at Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen.
Tongeren is the oldest town in Belgium. Its Gallo-Roman Museum tells the story of the region since prehistoric times, under the gaze of the statue of Ambiorix. The Basilica of Our Lady and the UNESCO-listed béguinage complete the visit. In the afternoon, in Riemst, Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen, one of the most renowned wine estates in Belgium, welcomes your group for a tour of the vines and cellars, followed by a tasting.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Tongeren at around 10.00 am.
- Visit to the Gallo-Roman Museum (guided tour on request).
- Stroll through the centre: the statue of Ambiorix, the Basilica of Our Lady and the béguinage.
- Free lunch or reserved group lunch (on request).
- Drive to Riemst: visit to Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen, its vines and its cellars.
- Tasting of the estate’s wines.
- Departure from Riemst at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
