Day trip to the Pays de Herve for your group: the descent into Blegny-Mine, Val-Dieu Abbey and Herve cheese.
With its meadows, orchards and farms, the Pays de Herve hides a rich heritage. At the UNESCO-listed Blegny-Mine, former miners guide your group through the underground galleries of a real coal mine. Val-Dieu Abbey, nestled in the Berwinne valley, offers a tasting of its abbey beer. A cheese dairy reveals the secrets of Herve cheese, and Liège syrup accompanies a lunch of local produce.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival at Blegny-Mine at around 10.00 am.
- Guided tour of the mine and descent into the underground galleries.
- Reserved group lunch of local produce: Herve cheese, Liège syrup, farmhouse bread (on request).
- Drive to Val-Dieu Abbey: visit to the site and abbey beer tasting.
- Visit to a Pays de Herve cheese dairy with tasting.
- Visit to a traditional syrup maker (on request).
- Departure at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.

- Times are adapted to your departure point.
- Underground it is cool all year round: bring a jacket and comfortable shoes.
- The descent into the mine is made in the miners’ lift cage: it is not recommended for people with claustrophobia.
