The Basque Country for groups: San Sebastián, Bilbao and Pamplona

Day 1 : Journey to western France

• Morning departure from the location of your choice.
• Drive to the Loire Valley, with regular stops along the way.
• Arrival in the Tours or Poitiers area at the end of the day, overnight stop.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 2 : Journey to San Sebastián

• Drive south via Bordeaux and the Landes.
• Arrival in San Sebastián in the afternoon and a first walk along La Concha Bay.
• Check-in at a hotel in the Basque Country for five nights.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 3 : San Sebastián

• Guided walking tour of the old town: the Basilica of Santa María del Coro, the Plaza de la Constitución and the lively lanes (on request).
• Walk to the Comb of the Wind, Eduardo Chillida's sculpture facing the ocean.
• Funicular ride up Monte Igueldo for the view over the bay (on request).
• Pintxos evening in the bars of the old town (on request).

Day 4 : Bilbao

• Drive to Bilbao.
• Discovery of the Guggenheim Museum, Frank Gehry's masterpiece, and its surroundings: the dog Puppy and the spider Maman.
• Visit to the collections of the Guggenheim Museum (on request).
• In the afternoon, a walk through the Casco Viejo and its Seven Streets, then to the Ribera market.
• Stop at the Vizcaya Bridge, a transporter bridge listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 : San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and Gernika

• Drive along the Biscay coast.
• Climb on foot to the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, via the stone bridge and the stairway linking the islet to the coast.
• Stop in the fishing port of Bermeo.
• In the afternoon, visit to Gernika: the Assembly House and the Tree of Gernika, symbol of Basque freedoms.
• Dinner in a Basque cider house, in season (on request).

Day 6 : Pamplona and the Rioja

• Drive to Pamplona, the capital of Navarre.
• Guided tour of the old town: the Plaza del Castillo, Calle Estafeta, the route of the encierro and the cathedral (on request).
• In the afternoon, drive to the Rioja Alavesa and discovery of the fortified village of Laguardia.
• Visit to a bodega with a tasting of Rioja wines (on request).
• Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 7 : Biarritz and journey to the Loire Valley

• Drive to Biarritz and a walk along the seafront: the Grande Plage, the Rocher de la Vierge and the Port des Pêcheurs.
• Drive north, with regular stops along the way.
• Arrival in the Tours or Poitiers area in the evening, overnight stop.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 8 : Return

• Return journey from the morning, with regular stops.
• Arrival back in your region in the evening.
