Day 1 : Journey to Poitiers

• Early morning departure from the location of your choice.
• Drive south via Paris, with regular breaks along the way.
• Arrival in Poitiers in the late afternoon.

Day 2 : Journey to Burgos

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Drive via Bordeaux and the Basque Country, with regular breaks.
• Arrival in Burgos in the late afternoon and a first stroll along the Arlanzón.
• Check-in at the hotel.
• Group dinner in a Castilian restaurant (on request).

Day 3 : Burgos and journey to Madrid

• Visit to Burgos Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece where El Cid is buried (on request).
• Drive to Madrid and arrival in the early afternoon.
• Panoramic coach tour: Gran Vía, Cibeles, the Castellana and Retiro Park.
• Check-in at the hotel.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 4 : Madrid, the Prado and the Royal Palace

• Guided tour of the Prado Museum: Velázquez, Goya, El Greco (on request).
• In the afternoon, visit to the Royal Palace (on request).
• Walk from the Puerta del Sol to the Plaza Mayor.
• Group dinner in a tavern in old Madrid (on request).

Day 5 : Toledo

• Drive to Toledo, about an hour away.
• Stop at the valley viewpoint for an overall view of the city and the Tagus.
• Guided walking tour: the cathedral, the Church of Santo Tomé and El Greco's The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, the Santa María la Blanca synagogue (on request).
• Damascene work demonstration in a workshop (on request).
• Return to Madrid in the late afternoon.

Day 6 : Segovia

• Drive to Segovia across the Sierra de Guadarrama.
• Discovery of the Roman aqueduct, the cathedral and the Alcázar.
• Visit to the Alcázar of Segovia (on request).
• Lunch of roast suckling pig, a Segovian speciality (on request).
• Return to Madrid and free evening.

Day 7 : Ávila and Salamanca

• Drive to Ávila and walk along its medieval ramparts.
• Climb up to the wall walk (on request).
• Drive to Salamanca and check-in at the hotel.
• A first evening stroll on the illuminated Plaza Mayor.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 8 : Salamanca and journey to San Sebastián

• Guided tour of Salamanca: the university façade, the Casa de las Conchas, the old and new cathedrals (on request).
• Drive to the Basque Country, with regular breaks.
• Arrival in San Sebastián in the late afternoon and stroll along La Concha Bay.

Day 9 : Journey to Tours
