2-day city trip to Münster for your group: Prinzipalmarkt, Hall of Peace, a bike ride and Hülshoff moated castle.
A university city and Germany’s cycling capital, Münster saw the signing of the Peace of Westphalia in 1648, in the Hall of Peace of its Gothic town hall. Your group explores the arcades of the Prinzipalmarkt and discovers the cathedral’s astronomical clock and the cages hanging from the tower of St Lambert’s Church. The next day, a bike ride around Lake Aasee and a visit to one of the Münsterland’s moated castles round off the trip.
Programme
Day 1: The historic heart of Münster
- Morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to Münster, arriving around midday.
- Guided walking tour: Prinzipalmarkt, the Hall of Peace in the town hall, St Lambert’s Church and St Paul’s Cathedral with its astronomical clock (on request).
- Visit to the Picasso Museum, devoted to the artist’s prints (on request).
- Check-in at the hotel.
- Group dinner in a Westphalian inn (on request).
Day 2: Bikes and moated castles
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Ride on hired bikes along the Promenade, the green ring around the old town, then around Lake Aasee (on request).
- Or a walk along Lake Aasee.
- Drive to Hülshoff moated castle, birthplace of the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, and stroll in its park.
- Return journey in mid-afternoon.
- Arrival back in your area in the evening.
