Day trip to Mons for your group: the Grand-Place, the belfry, the Doudou Museum, St Waltrude’s and the Grand-Hornu site.
Mons brings together two UNESCO-listed sites in a single day. On the Grand-Place, your group strokes the little lucky monkey, then discovers the baroque belfry, the Collegiate Church of St Waltrude and its Golden Chariot, and the Doudou Museum, which brings to life the famous festival and St George’s fight against the dragon. In the afternoon, Grand-Hornu, a former coal mining site, houses the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MACS) in a spectacular industrial setting.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Mons at around 10.00 am.
- Guided walk through the historic centre: the Grand-Place, the town hall and its monkey (on request).
- Visit to the belfry and view over the city.
- Visit to the Collegiate Church of St Waltrude and the Golden Chariot.
- Free lunch or reserved group lunch (on request).
- Visit to the Doudou Museum (on request).
- Drive to Grand-Hornu: visit to the mining site and the MACS.
- Departure from Grand-Hornu at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
