An 8-day stay on Arcachon Bay for your group: the Dune du Pilat, Cap Ferret, oyster-farming villages, ocean beaches and Bordeaux, with an overnight stop on the way there and back.
On the Atlantic coast, Arcachon Bay offers your group its beaches, its pine forests and the Dune du Pilat, the highest dune in Europe. From Arcachon and its Ville d'Hiver with its 19th-century villas, the stay leads to Cap Ferret by boat, to the oyster-farming ports with their colourful huts and, as an option, to Bordeaux, whose Port of the Moon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An overnight stop in the Tours area, on both the outward and return journeys, makes for a restful trip that respects driving time regulations.
Programme
Day 1 : Journey to the Tours area
- Early morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to the Loire Valley, with regular stops.
- Arrival in the late afternoon and check-in at the stopover hotel in the Tours area.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 : Journey to Arcachon
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to the Gironde, with regular stops.
- Arrival in the afternoon and check-in for five nights at a 3-star hotel near the beach, in the Arcachon area.
- A first walk along the seafront of Arcachon.
- Dinner at the hotel (half board, full board on request).
Day 3 : The Dune du Pilat
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Short drive to the Dune du Pilat and climb up the staircase to the summit, facing the ocean and the Banc d'Arguin.
- Return to Arcachon and free afternoon on the beach.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 : Arcachon and Cap Ferret
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Walk through the Ville d'Hiver of Arcachon and its 19th-century villas.
- Boat crossing to Cap Ferret (on request).
- Boat tour of the Île aux Oiseaux and the stilt huts (on request).
- Free time on the beach; rest day for the driver.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5 : The oyster-farming ports
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Gujan-Mestras and its oyster-farming ports with their wooden huts.
- Tasting of Arcachon Bay oysters at an oyster farmer's (on request).
- Stop at the port of Andernos-les-Bains and its long jetty.
- Return to the hotel and a free late afternoon on the beach.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6 : Bordeaux or a free day
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Excursion to Bordeaux: the Place de la Bourse, the Water Mirror and the quays of the Garonne (on request).
- Visit to the Cité du Vin (on request).
- For the others, a free day on the beach.
- Farewell dinner at the hotel.
Day 7 : Journey to the Tours area
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive north, with regular stops.
- Arrival in the late afternoon and check-in at the stopover hotel in the Tours area.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 8 : Return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Return journey to Belgium, with regular stops.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know
- Departure and return times are adapted to your group's pick-up point; the overnight stop in the Tours area breaks up the long journeys.
- Bring swimwear, a towel, sun cream, a hat and light shoes: the Dune du Pilat is climbed by a staircase and through the sand.
- A valid identity card and the European Health Insurance Card are recommended for every participant; currency: the euro.
