A 3-day city trip to Lyon for your group: Vieux-Lyon and its traboules, Fourvière, Croix-Rousse, a cruise and Lyonnais cuisine.

Between the Rhône and the Saône, Lyon has preserved a vast Renaissance quarter, Vieux-Lyon, whose traboules link the streets through the courtyards of buildings. On Fourvière hill, the basilica and the Roman theatres of ancient Lugdunum overlook the city. The Croix-Rousse tells the story of the canuts, the silk workers, while the bouchons and the Halles Paul Bocuse introduce you to Lyonnais cuisine.

Programme

Day 1 : Journey to Lyon

  • Morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Long drive south, with regular breaks.
  • Arrival in Lyon in the late afternoon and check-in at the hotel.
  • A first walk on the Presqu'île, Place Bellecour and the banks of the Saône.
  • Dinner in a Lyonnais bouchon (on request).

Day 2 : Fourvière, Vieux-Lyon and Croix-Rousse

  • Funicular ride up to Fourvière: the basilica and a panoramic view over the city.
  • Discovery of the Roman theatres of ancient Lugdunum.
  • Guided walking tour of Vieux-Lyon and its traboules (on request).
  • Afternoon on the Croix-Rousse, the canuts' quarter, and in front of the Mur des Canuts mural.
  • Guided cruise on the Saône and the Rhône (on request).

Day 3 : Les Halles and the journey home

  • Tasting of Lyonnais specialities at Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse (on request).
  • Visit to the Musée des Confluences (on request).
  • Return journey in the late morning.
  • Arrival back in your region in the evening.

  • Times are adapted to the departure point chosen by your group.
  • A valid identity card is required for every traveller.
  • Lyon is more than 600 km from Belgium, so the first and last days involve a long drive; the slopes of Fourvière and the Croix-Rousse call for good shoes.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
