A 3-day city trip to Heidelberg for your group: the castle, the old town, the Philosophers' Walk and a cruise on the Neckar.

Home to Germany's oldest university, Heidelberg stretches along the Neckar beneath the red sandstone ruins of its castle. Your group explores the old town, crosses the Old Bridge and climbs up to the Philosophers' Walk to take in the whole city and castle at a glance. Upstream, the Neckar valley is lined with villages and hilltop castles, best discovered by boat.

Programme

Day 1 : Journey to Heidelberg and the old town

  • Morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Drive to Heidelberg, with a break along the way.
  • Arrival in the early afternoon and a first walk through the old town: Hauptstraße, Market Square, Church of the Holy Spirit, Old Bridge.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 2 : The castle and the Neckar valley

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Funicular ride up to the castle and guided tour of the castle, its courtyard and the Great Tun (on request).
  • Guided tour of the old town and the former Student Prison (on request).
  • In the afternoon, cruise on the Neckar to Neckarsteinach and its four castles (on request).
  • Group dinner in a historic student tavern (on request).

Day 3 : Philosophers' Walk and return

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Walk along the Philosophers' Walk, on the other bank of the Neckar.
  • Tasting of Baden wines, for adults (on request).
  • Return journey in the early afternoon.
  • Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know

  • Departure and return times are adapted to your group's pick-up point.
  • A valid identity card is required for every participant.
  • The Philosophers' Walk and the lanes up to the castle are steep, so bring good shoes; Neckar cruises mainly operate from April to October.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
