Day trip to Gouda for your group: the cheese market, the Gothic town hall, a cheese farm and the Oudewater witches’ scales.
Gouda is of course famous for its cheese, but also for one of the oldest Gothic town halls in the Netherlands, the stained-glass windows of St John’s Church and stroopwafels, which were born in the town. In season, the traditional cheese market livens up the square on Thursday mornings. After a visit to a cheese farm, the day ends in Oudewater, where you can still be weighed on the famous witches’ scales.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Gouda at around 10.00 am.
- Traditional cheese market on the Markt (on Thursdays, in season).
- Stroll through the centre: the Gothic town hall and St John’s Church.
- Sweet break: freshly made stroopwafels (on request).
- Free lunch or reserved group lunch (on request).
- Visit to a cheese farm with tasting.
- Drive to Oudewater: the witches’ scales and certificate (on request).
- Departure from Oudewater at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
