2-day city trip to Cologne and Düsseldorf for your group: Rhine-side old town, MedienHafen, the cathedral and the Chocolate Museum.
Neighbours and rivals on the Rhine, Düsseldorf and Cologne can be explored in two action-packed days. In Düsseldorf, your group strolls through the old town and its Altbier breweries, walks along the Rhine promenade and discovers Frank Gehry’s twisted buildings in the MedienHafen. The next day, Cologne reveals its Gothic cathedral, the padlock-covered Hohenzollern Bridge and the Chocolate Museum, set on a peninsula in the Rhine.
Programme
Day 1: Düsseldorf, between the Altstadt and the MedienHafen
- Morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to Düsseldorf, arriving around midday.
- Guided walking tour of the old town, the Königsallee and the Rhine promenade (on request).
- Stroll around the MedienHafen, the converted former harbour, among Frank Gehry’s buildings and the Rhine Tower.
- Check-in at the hotel.
- Group dinner in a traditional brewery in the old town, with an Altbier tasting for adults (on request).
Day 2: Cologne along the Rhine
- Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Cologne.
- Free visit to the cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Guided tour of the old town and the Rheinauhafen district (on request).
- Walk across the Hohenzollern Bridge and view of the cathedral from the Deutz bank.
- Visit to the Chocolate Museum (on request).
- Return journey in mid-afternoon.
- Arrival back in your area in the evening.
