Day trip to Chimay for your group: the Espace Chimay, Scourmont Abbey, the old town and the Eau d’Heure lakes.
Chimay means Trappist beer and cheese made by the monks of the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Scourmont. At the Espace Chimay, your group discovers their history and how they are made, before a tasting. The abbey church and its gardens invite calm, while the old town and its princely castle offer charm. In the afternoon, the Eau d’Heure lakes, the largest in Belgium, provide plenty of fresh air, with an optional cruise.
Programme
- Early morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival at the Espace Chimay at around 10.00 am: discovery trail about Chimay Trappist beer and cheese.
- Tasting of Chimay beer and cheese.
- Self-guided visit to the abbey church and gardens of the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Scourmont.
- Reserved group lunch at the Auberge de Poteaupré (on request).
- Stroll through the old town of Chimay: the Grand-Place, the collegiate church and the princes’ castle.
- Drive to the Eau d’Heure lakes, cruise on the Plate Taille lake (on request).
- Departure from the lakes at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
