A 3-day city trip to the Loire châteaux for your group: Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise, Leonardo da Vinci's Clos Lucé and Loire wines.

Commissioned by Francis I, Chambord impresses with its size, its sculpted rooftops and its double-helix staircase. Chenonceau spans the Cher with its long gallery and owes much to the women who held it, from Diane de Poitiers to Catherine de' Medici. In Amboise, the royal château overlooks the Loire and houses the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci, who spent his final years close by, at Clos Lucé.

Programme

Day 1 : Journey to the Loire Valley and Chambord

  • Early morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Long drive to the Loire Valley, with regular breaks.
  • Arrival at Chambord in the afternoon.
  • Visit to the Château de Chambord and its double-helix staircase (on request).
  • Check-in at the hotel, in the Amboise area.
  • Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 2 : Chenonceau and Amboise

  • Guided tour of the Château de Chenonceau and its gallery over the Cher (on request).
  • Stroll through the gardens of Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de' Medici.
  • Group lunch in Amboise (on request).
  • Discovery of the Royal Château of Amboise and the Chapel of St Hubert, where Leonardo da Vinci lies.
  • Visit to Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci's last home (on request).

Day 3 : Vouvray and the journey home

  • Vouvray wine tasting in a cellar carved into the tufa stone, for adults (on request).
  • Return journey in the late morning.
  • Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know

  • Early departure on the first day because of the long drive; times are adapted to the departure point chosen by your group.
  • A valid identity card is required for every traveller.
  • The châteaux and their gardens involve a lot of walking and stairs, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
