Burgundy for groups: Dijon, the Hospices de Beaune and the Route des Grands Crus

Day 1 : Journey to Dijon

• Morning departure from the location of your choice.
• Drive to Burgundy, with regular stops along the way.
• Arrival in Dijon in the afternoon and a first walk through the historic centre.
• Check-in at the hotel.
• Dinner in the hotel restaurant (on request).

Day 2 : Dijon, city of the Dukes

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Guided walking tour of Dijon following the Owl's Trail: the Palace of the Dukes and States of Burgundy, the Church of Notre-Dame and its lucky owl, Rue des Forges (on request).
• Visit to the Museum of Fine Arts and the tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy.
• Lunch of Burgundian specialities (on request).
• Discovery of a Dijon mustard shop and tasting (on request).
• Free time at the Les Halles covered market or in the shopping streets.

Day 3 : The Route des Grands Crus and Beaune

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• The Route des Grands Crus via Gevrey-Chambertin, Vougeot and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
• Visit to the Château du Clos de Vougeot, birthplace of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Tastevin (on request).
• Arrival in Beaune and visit to the Hospices de Beaune, the Hôtel-Dieu founded in 1443, and the Last Judgement polyptych.
• Cellar visits and tasting of Burgundy wines (on request).
• Group dinner in a restaurant in Beaune or Dijon (on request).

Day 4 : Vézelay and return

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Drive to Vézelay and walk up to the Basilica of St Mary Magdalene, a masterpiece of Romanesque art.
• Guided tour of the basilica (on request).
• Return journey, with stops along the way.
• Arrival back in your region in the evening.
