Day trip to Bonn for your group: Beethoven’s birthplace, the old town, then the Drachenfels rack railway.
The former federal capital, Bonn is also the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven: his house, now a museum, holds the composer’s instruments, scores and memorabilia. After a stroll through the old town, the coach heads to Königswinter. The Drachenfels rack railway, one of the oldest in Germany, climbs to the neo-Gothic Drachenburg Castle and the summit, where the view takes in the Rhine valley and the Siebengebirge hills.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Bonn at around 10.00 am.
- Visit to the Beethoven House, his birthplace.
- Guided walk through the old town, from the market square to the minster (on request).
- Reserved group lunch (on request).
- Drive to Königswinter and rack railway ride up the Drachenfels.
- Visit to Drachenburg Castle (on request).
- Free time at the summit, view over the Rhine, then descent by train.
- Departure from Königswinter at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
