Day trip for your group: Charlemagne’s cathedral in Aachen and the half-timbered town of Monschau.
Two faces of Germany less than two hours’ drive away. Aachen, Charlemagne’s city, offers its UNESCO-listed cathedral, its town hall and its famous Printen gingerbread. Monschau, nestled in the Rur valley, charms with its half-timbered houses, its mustard mill and its romantic atmosphere.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Aachen at around 9.30 am.
- Guided tour of the cathedral and treasury (on request).
- Stroll through the centre: town hall, Printen and fountains.
- Drive to Monschau, reserved group lunch (on request).
- Free visit of Monschau: the Red House, the lanes and the banks of the Rur.
- Visit to the historic mustard mill with tasting (on request).
- Departure from Monschau at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
