Day trip to the Pajottenland for your group: Beersel Castle, a gueuze brewery and the basilica of Halle.
On the doorstep of Brussels, the Pajottenland is lambic country, home of the spontaneously fermented beer that gives gueuze and kriek. Your group visits the moated castle of Beersel, then a craft brewery to understand and taste these unique beers. The rolling landscapes that inspired Pieter Bruegel the Elder then lead to Halle and its Gothic basilica, famous for its Black Madonna.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Beersel at around 10.00 am.
- Visit to Beersel Castle, its towers, moat and wall walk.
- Visit to a lambic brewery with gueuze and kriek tasting.
- Reserved group lunch of local produce (on request).
- Scenic drive through the Pajottenland, in the footsteps of Bruegel (with a guide on request).
- Visit to Halle and its St Martin’s Basilica.
- Departure from Halle at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
