Day trip for your group: La Coupole in Helfaut, the Arques crystal works, the Audomarois marshes by boat and Saint-Omer Cathedral.
Around Saint-Omer, this day holds some wonderful surprises. La Coupole in Helfaut, a huge bunker built by the German army to launch V2 rockets, has become a history centre with a planetarium. In Arques, the crystal works is one of the great global names in tableware. The Audomarois marshes, recognised by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve, are discovered by boat among canals and market gardens. In Saint-Omer, Notre-Dame Cathedral houses an astronomical clock and rich treasures.
Programme
- Early morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival at La Coupole in Helfaut at around 10.00 am.
- Visit to La Coupole history centre.
- Planetarium show (on request).
- Reserved group lunch (on request).
- Boat trip through the Audomarois marshes (about 1 hour).
- Visit to Notre-Dame Cathedral in Saint-Omer.
- Stop at the Arques crystal works shop, or a tour depending on availability (on request).
- Departure at around 5.30 pm and return to your area in the evening.
