Day trip for your group: La Piscine, Roubaix’s museum of art and industry, Mallet-Stevens’ Villa Cavrois and the textile heritage.
Roubaix, once the world capital of wool, has turned its industrial past into a cultural asset. La Piscine, housed in an Art Deco swimming pool from the 1930s, is one of the most surprising museums in France: sculptures and paintings are displayed around the large pool. In Croix, the Villa Cavrois, a masterpiece by architect Robert Mallet-Stevens built for a textile industrialist, has regained all the brilliance of its modernity. An ideal day for lovers of art, architecture and industrial history.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Roubaix at around 10.00 am.
- Visit to La Piscine, museum of art and industry (guided tour on request).
- Reserved group lunch (on request).
- Visit to the Villa Cavrois in Croix (guided tour on request).
- Coach tour in the footsteps of the textile heritage of Roubaix and the Lille metropolitan area (with a guide on request).
- Departure at around 5.00 pm and return to your area in the evening.
