A 3-day trip for your group to the Christmas markets of northern Germany: Hamburg and its historic market in front of the town hall, followed by Lübeck, Hanseatic city and capital of marzipan.
In front of Hamburg's neo-Renaissance town hall, the historic Rathausmarkt Christmas market brings together craftspeople and confectioners during Advent, while the Speicherstadt and the Elbphilharmonie reveal the city's harbour side. Your group also spends a day in Lübeck, Queen of the Hanseatic League, whose brick-built old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Between the Holstentor gate, St Mary's Church and the Christmas markets of the old town, you can taste the famous Lübeck marzipan.
Programme
Day 1 : Journey to Hamburg
- Morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to northern Germany, with regular stops along the way.
- Arrival in Hamburg in the late afternoon and check-in at the hotel.
- Free evening at the historic Rathausmarkt Christmas market, in front of the illuminated town hall.
- Group dinner in a restaurant serving northern German specialities (on request).
Day 2 : A day in Lübeck, Hanseatic city
- Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Lübeck.
- Guided tour of the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Holstentor gate, the town hall, St Mary's Church and the Buddenbrook House (on request).
- Sweet break in a marzipan house in the old town (on request).
- Free time at the Christmas markets of the old town, around the town hall and St Mary's Church, and at the craft market in the Hospital of the Holy Spirit.
- Return to Hamburg in the evening.
Day 3 : The port of Hamburg and return
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Walk through the Speicherstadt, the brick warehouse district listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and access to the Elbphilharmonie Plaza for the view over the port.
- Guided cruise around the port of Hamburg (on request).
- A last visit to the Rathausmarkt Christmas market or the banks of the Alster.
- Return journey around midday, with regular stops.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know
- Departure and return times are adapted to your group's pick-up point; a valid identity card is required for every participant.
- The Christmas markets take place during Advent, from late November to late December depending on the city: opening dates vary from year to year and should be checked, and weekends are very busy (a weekday trip is more comfortable).
- The northern climate is damp and windy in December: bring warm, waterproof clothing and comfortable shoes; a meeting point and time at the coach are set each day with the driver.
