A 2-day trip for your group: the historic Christmas market on the Römerberg in Frankfurt, followed by the Market of Nations in Rüdesheim, in the Rhine Valley.
The Frankfurt Christmas market, one of the oldest in Germany, stretches from the Römerberg and its half-timbered houses to the banks of the Main, at the foot of a giant illuminated Christmas tree. Your group tastes local Christmas treats such as Bethmännchen and Brenten made with marzipan, before an evening of apple wine in the Sachsenhausen district. The next day, Rüdesheim am Rhein, in the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley, hosts the Christmas Market of Nations in its lanes and in the famous Drosselgasse. A two-day getaway between city and vineyards, to the rhythm of mulled wine and illuminations.
Programme
Day 1 : Frankfurt and the Römerberg market
- Early morning departure from the location of your choice.
- Drive to Frankfurt, with regular stops.
- Arrival in Frankfurt in the early afternoon.
- Guided tour of the old town (on request): the Römerberg, St Paul's Church and the Imperial Cathedral of St Bartholomew.
- Trip up to the Main Tower viewing platform (on request).
- Free time at the Christmas market, from the Römerberg to the banks of the Main.
- Check-in at the hotel.
- Group dinner in an apple wine tavern in Sachsenhausen (on request).
- Free evening at the illuminated market.
Day 2 : Rüdesheim and the Market of Nations
- Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Rüdesheim am Rhein (about 1 hour).
- Guided tour of the old town and the Drosselgasse (on request).
- Group lunch in a tavern on the Drosselgasse (on request) or free lunch.
- Rüdesheim coffee tasting (on request).
- Free time at the Christmas Market of Nations and the large nativity scene.
- Return journey in the mid-afternoon, with regular stops.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.
