A 2-day trip for your group: the Christmas markets in Düsseldorf's old town, followed by those in Cologne, from the foot of the cathedral to the angel market.

Neighbours on the Rhine, Düsseldorf and Cologne are among the liveliest Christmas cities in Germany. In Düsseldorf, your group strolls around the markets of the old town, from the town hall square to the angel market (Engelchenmarkt) on the Heinrich-Heine-Platz, before an evening in an Altbier brewery. The next day, Cologne offers the market at the foot of its UNESCO-listed Gothic cathedral, the Heinzelmännchen winter fairy tale on the Heumarkt, with its ice rink, and the angel market on the Neumarkt. Mulled wine served in souvenir mugs, gingerbread and potato pancakes are all part of the festivities.

Programme

Day 1 : Düsseldorf and its old town

  • Morning departure from the location of your choice.
  • Drive to Düsseldorf and arrival around midday.
  • Guided tour of the old town and the Königsallee (on request).
  • Free time at the Christmas markets in the Altstadt and at the angel market on the Heinrich-Heine-Platz.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Group dinner in a traditional brewery, with an Altbier tasting for adults (on request).
  • Free evening at the illuminated markets.

Day 2 : Cologne, from the cathedral to the angel market

  • Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Cologne (about 45 minutes).
  • Visit to the cathedral at your own pace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Guided tour of the old town of Cologne (on request).
  • Group lunch in a Kölsch brewery (on request) or free lunch.
  • Free time at the Christmas markets: Cathedral Square, the Heumarkt, the Alter Markt and the angel market on the Neumarkt.
  • Enjoy the illuminations at nightfall.
  • Departure from Cologne in the early evening.
  • Arrival back in your region in the evening.

  • Departure and return times are adapted to your group's pick-up point.
  • The opening dates of the markets vary from year to year and should be checked; weekends are extremely busy, so we recommend a weekday trip.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
