Day trip to Metz for your group: St Stephen’s Cathedral and its stained glass, the Centre Pompidou-Metz and the Imperial Quarter.
Metz, the city of golden-hued Jaumont stone, blends three thousand years of history with contemporary architecture. Its St Stephen’s Cathedral, nicknamed “the Good Lord’s lantern”, has one of the largest expanses of stained glass in France, including works by Chagall. The Imperial Quarter, built during the German period, and its monumental railway station surprise visitors with their style. The Centre Pompidou-Metz, with its roof shaped like a Chinese hat, hosts major modern art exhibitions. Not forgetting the mirabelle plum, the pride of Lorraine.
Programme
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Arrival in Metz at around 10.00 am.
- Visit to St Stephen’s Cathedral (guided tour on request).
- Stroll through the historic centre and the Imperial Quarter, as far as the station.
- Reserved group lunch (on request).
- Visit to the Centre Pompidou-Metz.
- Tasting of mirabelle plum products (on request).
- Departure from Metz at around 5.30 pm and return to your area in the evening.
